OWN THE NIGHT

Own the Night begins in 1968 during Vietnam's Tet Offensive, as Lt. Jake Boucher and his platoon of Navy SEALs witness a plane crash while on a mission to rescue a POW deep inside enemy territory in Cambodia. The story resumes in present day as the rescued POW, Leon "Pat" Patterson, retires from the FBI and offers his old SEAL benefactor some closely held information that the plane was carrying South Vietnam's gold reserves from Saigon, in advance of its impending fall to the Communists. The SEALs reunite and return to recover the gold, but what they find involves them in the heart of an intricate conspiracy, threatening the entire U.S. government and the security and lifestyle of every citizen.

"Own the Night is a page turner - It's raw and real. Paul Evancoe masterfully skews fact and fiction into an exquisitely evocative story that will both disturb and delight you. I can't wait for the sequel."
- Vince Flynn, best selling author of Protect and Defend

"Former Navy SEAL Paul Evancoe has written a plausible and terrifying tale of conspiracy and suspense. Paul is a warrior, a true American hero, and his Own the Night reflects his background, training and experience. It's realistic; it's hard, and it's powerful. A great read. I'll be having nightmares for some time about this story."
- Ben F. Small, acclaimed author of Alibi On Ice and The Olive Horseshoe

"Own the Night is a gripping action-packed thriller that pulls in the reader from the opening pages. In his first novel, Paul Evancoe weaves military and political elements into an adventure story with a plot like a freight train. Written with an amazing level of authenticity, Own the Night is an entertaining and thought provoking page-turner. I highly recommend it."
- Harold Wise, author of Inside the Danger Zone: The U.S. Military in the Persian Gulf 1987-88

Reviews / Praise

"Paul Evancoe is a born storyteller, an ex-Navy SEAL who knows his province like John Grisham knows the law and Patrick O'Brian knew the Royal Navy. In Violent Peace, Mr. Evancoe reunites us with his grizzled, Eastwood-esque protagonist Jake Boucher (from 2008's Own the Night) and his gang of take-no-prisoners cronies--including chopper pilots, jungle fighters, and nuclear physicists--from the days when men were men and didn't hesitate to kick your ass if you doubted it. The hold-off-the-Apocalypse adventure that ensues is simultaneously brilliantly imaginative and chillingly plausible. Violent Peace is a ripping, three-dimensional yarn, made up of two parts testosterone and three parts political savvy, crackling inventiveness and insider military know-how."
- Steven Pressfield, best selling author of Killing Rommel.

"In Violent Peace Paul Evancoe lays out the ultimate nightmare in a blistering page turning tale that will both educate and entertain. Taut, suspenseful and deadly accurate, it will surely be one of the thrillers published this year."
- Vince Flynn, best selling author of Extreme Measures

"Rogue Russian nukes in terrorist hands. Armed and timed to destroy major parts of the Middle East and the U.S. eastern seacoast. Jake Boucher, once again to the rescue. Better than Clancy at his best, Paul Evancoe, has re-defined the techno-thriller. Realistic and plausible, Violent Peace will shatter your innocence and linger in your thoughts and nightmares."
- Ben Small, acclaimed author of Alibi on Ice and The Olive Horseshoe.
